Pilates

Move better. Feel stronger. Build confidence in your body.

Pilates is a low-impact form of exercise that develops strength, control, mobility, balance and body awareness. Whether you're completely new to exercise, already active or simply want to move more comfortably and confidently, Pilates can offer something for you.

I offer Mat and Reformer Pilates, individually or in combination, from my private home studio in the beautiful North Dorset countryside.

Why Pilates?

Pilates is about much more than flexibility. Done well, it can be surprisingly challenging, helping you develop strength, stability and control throughout your body.

Regular practice can help you:

Build core and whole-body strength

Improve mobility and flexibility

Develop balance, stability and coordination

Improve posture and body awareness

Move with greater control and confidence

Complement other sports and physical activities

Support physical function and independence as you get older

You don't need to be flexible, strong or experienced to get started. That's what we're there to work on!

Mat Pilates

Don't be fooled into thinking Mat Pilates is the easier option!

Using your own body weight, sometimes alongside small equipment such as bands, balls and rings, Mat Pilates can provide an effective and surprisingly challenging whole-body workout.

I offer 1-to-1, duet and small-group Mat Pilates, with sessions tailored to the abilities and goals of those taking part.

You can also create your own small group with friends, combining the social enjoyment of exercising together with more personalised attention.

Reformer Pilates

The Reformer uses springs, resistance and a moving carriage to support, challenge and add variety to Pilates exercises.

With two professional-grade Reformers in my studio, I offer both individual and duet sessions, allowing plenty of attention to technique, movement and individual progress.

Reformer Pilates isn't necessarily harder or more advanced than Mat Pilates. Both can be adapted to suit different abilities and can be as gentle or challenging as appropriate.

A Personal Approach

I believe exercise should be both effective and enjoyable.

I'll take time to understand your goals, experience and how you move, adapting sessions to challenge you appropriately while helping you build confidence and progress.

Some clients come specifically for Pilates. Others use it to complement strength training, tennis, other sports or their general fitness.

There's no fixed formula — we'll find an approach that works for you.

Fusion Training

Pilates doesn't have to sit in isolation.

If you'd like more variety, my Fusion Training sessions combine Pilates with elements of strength training and cardiovascular exercise.

This allows us to bring together the control, mobility and body awareness developed through Pilates with resistance training to build strength and cardiovascular exercise to improve fitness and stamina.

Sessions are tailored to your goals, abilities and preferences.

You don't have to choose between Pilates and other forms of exercise — they can complement one another.

My Studio

Sessions take place in my private, newly renovated home studio in the North Dorset countryside, offering a welcoming and personal environment.

The studio is equipped with two professional-grade Pilates Reformers, alongside equipment for Mat Pilates, strength and fitness training.

Sessions available:

  • Mat Pilates: 1-to-1, duet and small groups

  • Reformer Pilates: 1-to-1 and duet

  • Fusion Training: Personalised sessions combining Pilates, strength and fitness
